Matt Lloyd On Getting Your Traffic to Opt-in Review
Email still remains one of the top channels for delivering marketing messages. You need to capture email addresses of your website traffic to build a list you will send messages to. When people click your links and get to your lead capture page, the hope is that they will get attracted to your lead magnet and opt-in.
But what if they are not opting in? What if people are coming to your lead capture page and just bouncing out? One of the main reasons could be that your offer is not enticing enough. Below are some of Matt Lloyd’s tips for making your offer more attractive to prospects.
1) Make It Free and Valuable
Think about it, why would people want to pay you for give you their contact details? A lead magnet is a friendly bribe, it’s sort of a preludegratitude for people’s contact details. If it is not free, people will just leave your page.
Matt Lloyd also recommends offering a lead magnet that is of value, which people can get great benefit from. It should be relevant to the type of traffic you are attracting. For example, if you are promoting MOBE products, you could offer a free webinar on how they can make $50 000 working from home.
2) Make It Low Risk
What you are asking from your website visitors is very important. Asking for something that is too big of a commitment can be a turn off for people. Making your offer free reduces the risk because people don’t want to put in their credit card information.
Matt Lloyd also advices reducing the risk by asking for less information. People don’t mind giving their email addresses. They might even give a phone number occasionally, but most people wouldn’t be comfortable giving you their house address.
3) Make It Exciting
Your offer has to be irresistible. Craft your content to engage the audience and make them realize that they are losing out if they don’t take this free offer. This content is also an indicator of the type of material they should expect from you if the opt in, so if your landing pages are uninteresting and not captivating, they will not opt in.
The type of offer you make to your prospects in exchange for information is very important. If it is not relevant to your audience, or enticing enough, people won’t opt-in. Use your copy to creatively entice your audience and compel them to take your offer.
